About Healing Arts and Sciences

In the simplest terminology, the various subjects in the above navigation bar are described. My goal is to provide you with a sense of the various pieces of the puzzle that interlock in completing the healthcare circle. Another goal is to lend insight as to the intellectual and technical depth of the subjects. In my work I utilize these arts and sciences to identify which of the three realms of body, mind and spirit needs to be addressed and what is the best approach.

It is the same for the equine as for the human that healing is defined as a restoration of ‘wholeness' of these three bodies or realms. In our search for methods to restore and maintain health many times we must look beyond biology and chemistry of the physical body and embrace ancient healing arts and emerging technologies that address the mind and spirit. The mind and spirit exist simultaneously within and beyond the physical realm and are found in the energy explain by quantum physics, yet they are accessible through the physical body. Thus energy medicines are necessary means and methods for bringing balance between these three bodies or realms.

“Often when working with riders and their horses, I will mention the need for self-preservation; this to me includes the physical and the mental-and a third factor. I've been trying for some time to think of words to get this third factor to where it comes to light; to show how it blends with the other two-the physical and mental. It is the least mentioned, but I am beginning to believe it is the most important factor to recognize: the rider needs to recognize the horse's need for self-preservation in Mind, Body, and, the third factor, Spirit. He needs to realize what that means to the horse so he can benefit from what it is in the horse, what it means to the horse. He needs to realize how a person's approach can assure the horse that he can have his self-preservation and still respond to what the person is asking him to do.”
