Services - Education

Educational services are offered in varying formats and settings: private, small groups or large seminar. This is an opportunity for you to expand your knowledge about you and the equine body, spirit, and mind and how it responds to our varied demands. Let me share information about those professional services that are available to complete "The Whole Horse" approach to equine healthcare and teach you a few of the therapeutic techniques that you can apply.

Individual & Small Group Tutorials

Individual Tutorial (1 hour)

Small Group Tutorial limited to 4 participants (2 hours)

Stretching. The body's ROM is assessment for your horse's needs, specific stretches are assigned, and I guide you with hands-on demonstration of each stretch. The basic principles of stretching, safety techniques & body position of both you and your horse are discussed.

Basic Massage Techniques. Learn the easiest techniques for you to use in ‘rub downs'. Three different strokes are demonstrated hands-on and learn how to evaluate the effectiveness of the work.

Body, Mind & Spirit. Teaches your horse and you how to relax together through Acupressure, Meditation, and Appreciation. Our bodies being relaxed and our minds calm and focused on this ‘moment in time' are fundamental skills for effectively and safely working with horses. Communication expands thus allowing advances in performance and a deepening of the relationship between you and your horse.

'The Course' with Horses. Are you looking for a better way to communicate with your horse? Do you desire more patience with you horse or quicker responses? Are you in constant struggle to gain your horse's cooperation? Are you willing to look within yourself to find the obstacles that are blocking effective communication? This series of classes utilizes the principles of A Course In Miracles and Vedanta to improve communication through unconditional love, forgiveness and unity consciousness. Experience higher levels of consciousness and total Oneness with your horse. Higher levels of consciousness are the keys to increasing performance and deepening your animal communications skills. Mixture of lecture, discussion, hands-on and homework assignments. Requires access to a video camera in class and at home. 6 Parts in 3 hour sessions and meets for 6 weeks. 8 participant limitation.

Seminars & Guest Speaking

These presentations vary in duration. They can be revised to include hand-outs, Power Point, video, large illustrations, 3-D models, and hands-on demonstrations with equines.

Beyond White Hairs. The subject is Saddle Fit and The Equine Back. Learn how saddle design and saddle fit cause many injuries you've never been told about. Information is revealed through biomechanics, physiology, history and ergonomics. Walk away with insight for your equine and some tips for making improvements.

My horse is “Off” Again. Learn about how the horse's body and locomotion, their response to riding disciplines and how these create gait abnormalities and lameness. Gain insight for evaluating locomotion, and, tips to managing repetitive motion injuries.

Equine Appreciation. Take a journey through history, science, and art that reveals how the horse is responsible for the creation of the computer.

Magic and Therapeutic Modalities for Equines. Learn what modalities are now available for horses, what training and qualifications you should consider when selecting a practitioner, where to find qualified practitioners, California Law and the Veterinary Practice Act.

Classes
